Mike Wathen Leverages Experience as President Into Successful Law Career
Mike Wathen ’91 learned a significant life lesson during his time as Interfraternity Council president at the University of Maryland. His experience was one that required listening to and weighing carefully the diverse needs and desires of entirely different groups, an experience that honed skills essential to his career today. What he learned prompted his advice to the incoming IFC president.

James (Jim) Spencer ‘90 is proud to be investing in his alma mater through his service on the University of Maryland Alumni Association. For the past six years, and four more to come, Spencer has been honored to participate in a variety of roles. After serving four years on the Board of Governors, he moved into the president-elect role in June 2017. In June 2019, he will serve as president, followed by two years as past-president.

Gregory Schaub '82 retired from a full career in the finance world in early December. Most recently, he spent 20 years at JP Morgan Chase. Despite retirement, Schaub has launched his own consulting firm and serves on the University Of Maryland Alumni Association Board Of Governors, and chairs the committee for the Gamma Chi scholarship fund. Texas has been home for the Schaub family since 1995, though they have recently decided to make Washington, D.C. a second home.
